« I thought I was done with my set of problems, but not at all. I have another problem today and this time with my visa. What should I do ? ! »

I looked at my passport out of curiosity, then I realized that the visa given by the Cambodian government only lasts one month after my arrival in Cambodia. I felt lost because the Cambodian Embassy in Paris normally gave me a three month visa after I arrived in Cambodia. I was totally confused.

"Iris, you thought it's over, didn't you?" Well no ! "

After discussing it with friends, my tutor learned that it was absolutely necessary to renew my visa before it expired. I should not take account at the visa given by the Cambodian Embassy in France, but the visa granted in Cambodia. We went directly to an open travel agency in town, and were able to extend my visa.

The professionals assured me I was lucky to noticed that my visa will soon expire, otherwise, I would have had to pay $ 10 per day I spend in Cambodian territory without a visa. So lucky ! I have been informed that I had to wait a maximum of 10 days to collect my passport, and that there may be a chancenmy visa application will be refused, or late due to the Cambodian New Year festivities. We just had to wait and pray that everything would go well, that I could get my visa, and get my passport back.

« YEEESSSS ! »

Here we are, 10 days later, and I received a photo of my visa extended to more than 6 months on Cambodian territory. Like this, no need to go through these administrative procedures again. I am more than happy, I have my visa, I am in good standing, I can stay in Cambodia, and I ultimately don't have to pay $ 10 for every day I spend in Cambodia without a visa. I am so happy !

However, unexpected news reached us a few hours later. When we were planning the day and time to pick up my passport with my tutor, we learned that the capital was closed due to covid-19.

A few weeks later, the lockdown was lifted, and I was finally able to get my passport back. I am really grateful because on the one hand, I was able to get my new visa with the possibility of staying 6 months in the territory, and on the other hand, I was able to get my passport back. Well, yeah, I could not have the visa, paid $ 10 a day, and on top of that, found out my visa was lost. But none of that has happened so I am currently very happy and very grateful for these blessings in my life.

See you soon everyone !
