6. My first experience with free delivery of safe drinking water...

CHOICE are delivering safe drinking water to 4 separate villages totalling more than 1000 people. Many illnesses and eventually deaths are caused by drinking the natural bore water which contains poisonous toxins, mainly arsenic. We visit each villages twice a week, and they receive 50 litre of safe drinking water per family.

I must admit that I was really impatient to be able to make my first deliveries of safe drinking water to our villages. It’s a wonderful opportunity for me to have such a humanitarian experience. My heart was warm, and I was impatient. However, reality has knocked me down!

A lesson of life

« I thought I could help poor people, but I learned lesson of life there»

Dear Friends, learn to be grateful for what you have, others do not have the same blessings as yours. I only understood this when I arrived in Cambodia, and even more so since my first experience in delivering safe drinking water. Learn to be happy with what little you have, and if it’s possible, help others.

Other than that, you have to know that the landscapes on your way to the villages is absolutely beautiful, relaxing and calming. You will come across several small herds of cows even in the villages, but do not be afraid. However, be rather afraid of the jerks you will have all day long. Due to the fact that the villages are very poor, the roads are not paved, this gives a certain charm to the landscape. But by being on the tractor with these shakes, I can assure you that you will wake up the next day with pain in some unsuspected parts of your body.

You will hurt EVERYWHERE, from head to toe. I was in so much pain that at one point I almost cried, my back was hurting, my heart was straining, an excruciating pain…. But for real, the experience was worth it. So although it was painful, it was a beautiful moment.
